Overlooking picturesque Lake Derwentwater, the four-star Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa is set in forty acres of tranquil land with a waterfall and a lakeshore.

Mizu Pan Asian Restaurant serves a selection of Japanese, Chinese and Thai-inspired dishes, freshly prepared from the finest ingredients with a Lake District twist.

The Falls Spa offers a thermal suite with twelve different heat experiences, five treatment rooms, an exclusive Champagne bar and an outdoor infinity-edge vitality pool, with neck jets, underwater loungers and stunning views.

Not as clean as would expect - food on dining room floor, bed runner matted and soiled, clothing and food scraps of rooms previous occupancy still evident in room. Decor in room starting to look worn. No Tv remote.

Gorgeous, but many improvements needed

Was beautiful place and came with couple but very missleading. It does not explain in the main fine print that u need to pay extra for the spa… £35 extra during weekend. Since they closing down. I understand this being higher but with this being a unknown location I get it being lower in price

Was very dated and walls being thin. This was expressed to be updated in the new renovation of the building when everything was closed down. It was almost as if they had set everything up for us coming and going as when we came and left everything was here and gone and gave off strange vibes.

The spa is amazing, the staff are lovely can't do enough for you. The food was lovely.

Lovely, but not great value

Breakfast was amazing however we got it served to the room and it could have been a bit warmer. The location is obviously incredible.

Wifi was awful in the room. The room was very cold and we had to ring reception to get a heater. I think for the money, eventhough we got a much reduced offer, we didnt feel as well looked after as we have in other hotels/spa hotels.

For the price we paid didn't expect two single beds pushed together. Had to pay extra for spa facilities etc, would expect them to be complementary when paying 230 per night.

Room dark good blockout

Not a real continental breakfast. No cold cuts/cheeses. Bfast good but not a great selection of breads and croissants. Could offer more multigrains/rye/sourdough etc.

This was a lovely hotel with lots of nice seating areas. Staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was outstanding, with lots of buffet options and also cooked options. It is just a stones throw from the waterfall and the lake, so you can do some walking in the immediate vicinity. Keswick is easy to get to, the road is quite narrow and windy so just allow plenty of time!

The only thing to improve would be to have bedroom doors that closed quietly - we were kept awake on the 1st night by other people in the hotel leaving and entering their rooms late at night and the doors making a lot of noise.

Some of the best good in the area. Mizumi the new Japanese restaurant was fabulous. Location, location - no where better to view Borrowdale. Walking and hiking in moderate to easy sections all round.

Ok the departments - food, housekeeping and general staff were above expectation. Where this hotel goes wrong is the total lack of the ' management' glue that should pull it together. The hotel is run as if each area/ section of the hotel are run by separate companies. No cohesion at all. On one night we were eating off the Conservatory menu - good food, then, when it came for dessert, we were informed that all food outlets had been closed as the hotel restaurant was too busy - not good. On making my complaint to the hotel manager, he informed me he had to rush as he was also serving tables to help out. Mizumi kitchen is big, and a little bit of thought and the hotel could have served many more people by opening this for the Bar and outside service. A great great shame as this property has so much potential - but so little desire to do so - lack of vision and true management. But overall a very good place to stay - just don't go for the service or happy staff faces.

Very clean and comfortable. Beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings.

Service needs to improve for people who choose to eat in conservatory rather than having dinner in restaurant. Menu is limited and once in conservatory you are mostly ignored. Not everyone wants to eat in formal dining room, especially if you are on your own but you should be given same good service if you choose not too.

The food was really good at the hotel and the place is dog friendly. The staff are helpful and always well presented.

The only down side was that the room was slightly smaller than expected. The room was also very hot and the air conditioning didn’t seem to work. Overall though it was a good stay.

there is no spa pool etc but there is very noisy work going on there when you pay £300 plus a night fro b&b you don't expect at 8 am on a sunday to be woken by heavy plant machines and petrol cutting tools

The location was great but to get to the car park required crossing a busy road where every driver felt they were like Stirling Moss and the bends made checking the road very difficult.

The room was basically a greenhouse by the side of a motorway. The room faced the sun and so even on a typical sunny day, it would get hot, but there was no air conditioning, so it felt like a greenhouse. The room was next to the road, so noisy. Reception never seemed to be manned. It cost £5 to have some ice delivered to the room! The bar area had such huge chairs that it did not welcome you at all. The publicity indicated that there was a spa, but it wasn't actually open - terrible. The staff seemed pretty unhappy.

The main bar is very dated in comparison to the new conservatory and restaurant area. Building work being carried out ruined the view slightly
